Well done to Luke who pulled off a great win in the BUCS (Students) run-bike-run duathlon championships last weekend against some top class opposition.

Luke has been putting in some big training weeks recently of up to 25 hours (Students have loads of time don’t they?…but that’s still impressive!) which is clearly paying off even at this early stage of the winter. I would expect him to be quick on the two run sections of the duathlon butthe bike split was pretty impressive too. He only lost about 20 seconds to my friend and fellow Tri-Anglia member Lee Calderon who finished 5th Over-all. Lee is a great cyclist who represented Gibraltar at the last Commonwealth Games in Delhi in the time trial event which might help to put Luke’s efforts into perspective.  That new bike of his might be helping too! (see below picture).

So, a great result which bodes well for the coming season for Luke, but also for me as he will be guiding in quite a few races!
