Last weekend I paid a visit to Loughborough to help out at the Paratriathlon talent day supported by GE. It was great to be invited to join the group of athletes who had been selected for swim and run trials in order to assess their future potential with Rio 2016 coming into view on the horizon. Clearly there were some very talented athletes present with some impressive times posted – athletes on the podium squad such as myself really can’t afford to take our foot off the gas!
I managed to do some training myself, although I have to admit I was glad I didn’t have to take part in trials!! I did a steady 6km of jogging on the track which was my 4th run of the week. This was followed by a swim session with lots of really useful technique coaching from one of my guides Luke in-between doing filming and photographs for GE and channel 4 online who were following the day. Who knows if any of it will be used.
Sunday saw Luke and myself take on a tandem ride just for a little extra training together since I was in Loghborough were he is a student.
All in all not a bad weekend.
