Tomorrow we travel out to Gijon to compete at the world duathlon championships. This will Luke Watson’s first race as a guide so hopefully we can make it a good one. After a terrible season this is really the last chance for some sucess this year…
Thanks to Steve Paley, we have a tandem to ride after the crash in Beijing which is brilliant. Steve works with Jimmy Goddard, another Paratriathlete who competes in the Tri 1 class (wheelchair athlete), as a transition handler.
Today has been a bit hectic including an unexpected interview with BBC Look East about our Beijing adventures and upcoming trip to the duathlon. This should be on the evening news tonight. It was great to catch up with Debbie Tubby who did a great feature last year (Iain Dawson’s guide to Paratriathlon) which can be seen in our video gallery.
Just a final thought for my poor wife Jill who will be doing the long drive to Spain and back over the coming days…she really is a legend!
Iain
Good luck Iain and Luke hope it goes well. And a gret big thank you to Jill – Iain is correct she is a legend! Love Mum X
