The season is not far from being over now, however due my injury issues this year I feel like I’m just getting started!
So I’ve booked in a few more bits and bobs over the next couple of months – just for fun really.
This includes some Para track cycling events, Waveney Supersprint triathlon, Swim Serpentine 1 mile Para invitation event and a relay triathlon. It’s nice to be getting back to normal!
I have however decided the sensible thing to do is defer my Great North Run entry until 2018. I really wanted to make this year’s race, not least because sponsors like On and Sportlink for example have been amazing and I feel I’ve offered little in return this year. Also it’s my hometown race and event I’ve always wanted to do. However, it just wouldn’t have been a sensible choice to do it. My lack of general fitness after so long on the sidelines and in particular my lack of run-specific fitness is one thing, I would also be risking a relapse with my back at worst and at best risking picking up another injury (like I did at the Norwich 10k!).
You can see the full schedule for the rest of this season here. I might add one or two more things so keep an eye on that page.
