Here at Tri Team Dawson there are lots of changes happening, which will hopefully be awesome!
Firstly Jill is giving up work, well kind of anyway. She will be developing her own freelance business as a communication expert and Speech & Language Therapist by trade. She is a very experienced trainer in topics related to Autism, challenging behaviour and is the 2018 national Positive Behaviours Support (PBS) coach of the year., The main thing is that it will be in her control and involve a lot less travelling/long days.
I’m continuing to work for the NHS as Specialist Learning Disabilities Physiotherapist, but on reduced hours. I will be working 3 days a week and, whilst I still enjoy the direct client work it’s time to explore other opportunities.
Jill and I have therefore set up CAN BUT TRI LTD and will be organising some mult-sport events including the Stradbroke triathlons and children’s aquathlons over the weekend of 18th and 19th May 2019. It’s a big undertaking, but we are looking forward to running some great events that are ideal to encourage new people into the sport.
Apart from that I will be working with my long-time sponsor Matrix Cycles UK to help on the promotion/sales side of things, maybe importing some cool products myself and doing a little bit of public speaking now and again.
I’m still planning on racing too, so watch out for an update on plans for the season ahead coming soon.
It’s going to be an interesting 2019 – I don’t think I am going to bored anyway!!
